Meet and Greet in Paradise
Folks enjoyed the day-long (10/1/05) grand opening of the Silver Comet Fountain with its offerings of coffee, expresso, energy drinks, Comet Coolers™ or just cold bottled spring water. There was plenty of space to mingle and plenty of sofas for people to relax and take in the scenery and sounds. There was even WiFi Internet access for those who wanted to check their email. Some were even lulled into taking a nap. Stress was vanquished for everyone. People freely and openly discussed subjects that ranged from community service to spiritual salvation.
The Paradise staff circulated among attendees answering questions that arose about how the water features came to existence. WiFi access allowed people to see the on-line before and after pictures of Paradise waterscape creations. Folks learned how to build their own "water feature" project in their own yards. The Lord chose some to win the gifts described in separate articles published exclusively here at OurMableton.net. To the right is Mike Pecararo, who is the blessed winner of the $50 GAP Gift card after the first round of drawing of lots.
Some had their copy of The Germ Handbook signed personally by its author, Dr. Leslie Dauphin, who shared her interesting experiences with being interviewed by the Trinity Broadcasting Network for the upcoming Doctor to Doctor segments to air in the future.
This book remains available at either local bookstores or on-line and Dr. Dauphin will be available for book signings at the upcoming Equipped and Empowered Extravaganza(10/15/05) and the Go Red for Women Health Fair events described elsewhere.

Another interesting attendee of this wonderful community event was Nutritionist Julane Contursi, who has had 20 years experience in clinical and sports nutrition. One of her passions has been the study of the interrelationship between nutrition and exercise on the body and the education of people on the many benefits that good nutrition and consistent activity have on both physical & mental health. Julane has written nutrition articles for a local health & fitness magazine (Atlanta Sports & Fitness Magazine); and has conducted corporate wellness programs. Meanwhile, to the right are Floyd and Laura, who are the blessed winners of the wireless network router after the second round of drawing of lots.
The other passion that drives Julane Contursi are animals! She has been involved in animal (dogs & cats) rescue for the past 15+ years. This was not a conscious decision Julane made one day but more of a "calling" since she started to pick up the stray dogs running around in the street, worried that they would get hit by a car. She takes all her "rescues" to the Vet where they're examined; vaccinated; spayed or neutered; and tested for heartworm. Once a "clean bill of health" is obtained, she adopts them out to homes where they can provide a loving, permanent home for them through a licensed rescue organization. Julane has several dogs waiting for their forever home. Please contact julanec@mindspring.com or call her at 404 290-8261 if interested in fostering or adopting one of these wonderful companions. In the interim, to the left is John, who is the blessed winner of the Iomega external 160 GB hard drive after the third round of drawing lots.
This free event was held at Paradise Concepts in the morning but in the evening also Centennial Olympic Park (an option for Hands On Atlanta Day volunteers). Paradise is at 4419 Floyd Road, Mableton, GA 30126 where Floyd crosses the Silver Comet Trail 0.7 mi south of the East-West Connector and 1.3 mi north of the Mable House Amphitheatre.
